Class Description

HATHA

Hatha is the classic type of yoga. It emphasizes more on strength and balance. It evolves into more core work and getting into the pose through the quality of breath. The practice starts with meditation and continues on with asana combine with breath work. The end of practice is more passive to find the recovery and revitalizing the body.

BASIC VINYASA

Basic Vinyasa Yogais the practice of breath and movement. Taken from Ashtanga, Vinyasa sequences randomly. Still in the lineage of Hatha, Vinyasa focusing on evolving the sequence of the arts of body i.e backbend, hip opener, arm balance, core strength and etc. Known for its vigorous practice, Vinyasa includes chaturanga, upward dog and downward dog as transition of each poses. The practice usually starts with series of sun salutations to warm the muscles and more passive towards the end to be more relax.

VINYASA FLOW

Vinyasa Flow is a sequence of movement combined with breath. It is started with series of Sun Salutations and moving on to rigorous flow and holding poses in between. Vinyasa is essentially the basic sun salutation movements of chaturanga (lower plank), cobra/ urdhva mukha svasanasa (upward dog), and adho mukha svasanasan (downward dog), linked with breath. The class is open for all levels who want to challenge their limit and still have fun doing it.

PRENATAL YOGA

Prenatal Yoga can be useful for pregnant women to be more able to enjoy the stages during pregnancy and share experiences among pregnant women. Yoga can also build awareness of their bodies during pregnancy, can improve strength, flexibility and health of the entire body.Movement in yoga also reduces pelvic pain and relieve pain and stiffness in the area of womanhood. Mothers can start yoga from the beginning of pregnancy, as long as the mother did not experience complications of high-risk pregnancies. Doing yoga helps pregnant mothers to connect with the baby and her own body through exercise and build deep alert at birth or the birth process.

EASY YOGA

Easy Yoga is for everyone!! For one who are new to Yoga as well as experienced practitioners. The postures and movements are made very simple, with full breath awareness and getting a profound connection on the body, mind and spirit.

Easy Yoga is a class where there is freedom from effort and hardship in practicing Yoga. Where one can relax and soften, getting more in-line with their true essence and having a sound peace of mind coming out of the class.

YIN WIND DOWN

Is a slow but intense class which combines the deep stretches of YIN with some gentle FLOW. Yin Yoga is slow and mainly floor based, with each pose (asana) held for around five minutes. This practice targets the connective tissues, specifically the ligaments and tendons in the joints and the spine. Allow your MIND and BODY to be set free by this beautiful class, which is complimented by a relaxing soundtrack.

YOGA GROOVE

If you love YOGA and you love MUSIC, YOGA GROOVE is the perfect class for you. Yoga Groove will have a different theme each week, with a different soundtrack and different moves to go along with it. The class will be a mixture of Hatha and Vinyasa style moves and maybe a little dance – If your’e lucky!

CANDLELIT EVENING YOGA

Practice that combines asana( poses) and pranayama (breath) and meditation to relax the mind, body and soul using deep stretch with candle light to help bring the mind into a deep meditation

ACTIVE BEGINNER

Following her class, you can expect a vigorous practice which will include sun salutations and progress through poses that develop core strength and balance, open shoulders and hips, and increase back flexibility. Whatever your level, Maureen believes Vinyasa yoga provides the opportunity to improve physical well being while at the same time increase inner focus and patience. Through a steady and consistent practice, almost anything is possible!

KIDS YOGA

In this class, children are encouraged to explore and discover the mind and body in a fun-filled way! It is a fun, creative approach to yoga that can be very helpful for children whose bodies are still developing. The use of animated poses and basic stretching exercises promote strength, flexibility, coordination and body awareness. Breathing and visualization techniques teach kids how to focus, relax and develop self-control.

YOGA FOR CHILDREN WITH SPECIAL NEEDS

The class is designed to enhance the natural development of children with special needs. It is safe for children with Down Syndrome, Cerebral Palsy, Microcephaly, Autism and other developmental disabilities. These methods also provide an effective treatment for children diagnosed with Attention Deficit Disorder, ADHD and Learning Disabilities.
